In The Daylight
A false downfall
An unexpected revival
Sunset to moonset
Shining through darkness
Life...redefined
Death...redesigned
In the valley of promises- I will fear no end
On the brink of weakness- I will ascend
-
Roads of the toughest
Paths of the darkest
I conditioned my flawed limits
So fearful memories won't be paralytic
I had to raise my own spirit
Strength and endurance become so vivid
A chance for change / A moment of fate
A time to make peace / A brief feeling of creed
A sealing of my slate / A silencing of my mistakes
A secret ready to be freed / A chain soon-to-be incomplete
Pain and peace are infinite
Judge the wrat
I
In the infinite void
So silent,
So dark,
Materialises a corridor
Decorated by door upon door
Upon door.
Locks locked,
Each room closed
Tightly shut.
Out of the silence
Emerges a sound so fair
The violin
Of the Devil's serenade
Plays of hope tonight
Soon it will fade.
II
Applauded by thousands of creaks
Of doors now ajar
Their filthy, deluded light
Spreading the shadows of demons
Hiding in corners.
Rooms of madness, no man's land,
Desperate hands, countless keys,
Without hope, broken; falling upon knees
Crying out; voice above, help me, hear me
Show me... please.
I
Yesterday
Was today
Now gone away.
Never will yesterday
Be here again
To stay.
II
Now today
Is yesterday
Tomorrow is today.
Goodbye, yesterday
I won't forget
What you had to say.
I'll listen to you
Today.
A handsome man met a beautiful angel one night walking down the long lonely streets and with his words did bind her.
He promised her love, gratitude and devotion beyond measure, asking only for her absolute submission to him.
She smiled, agreed and immediately he placed her in a gilded cage with a perfect view of the city.
"You lied!" she cried "And are horrible and mean, you have trapped me here!"
"I never lie" he said "I have given you exactly what I promised and you have given exactly what I have asked."
And with that she sat back in her cage and gazed out into the night accepting what fate had offered her.
But what he never told her
